1813035 - Report is not discarding data when run from Visual Studio .NET application

Symptom

  • Running a report in Visual Studio .NET 2008 application
  • On first refresh, the data shows correctly
  • If the report is closed and reopened, the data show up duplicated

Environment

  • Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 (version 10.5.x)
  • Visual Studio 2008

Cause

  • The report contained two unlinked tables
  • One table was a data table, the second table was holding images

Resolution

  • Removing the images table resolved the issue
  • The images table was then added to a subreport
  • If needed, drill down on the subreport can be prevented by setting the report viewer to EnableDrillDown equals false
