1658013 - User Cannot Create New Business Users or Service Agents Using Initial User

Symptom

The user is not able to create new Business users or service agents with initial user details.

Reproducing the Issue

The initial user does not have the Business Partners or Business Partner Data work center, depending on the SAP solution.

Cause

The initial user of a new tenant is required to finish and deploy the scoping before he can create a service agent. 

Resolution

The access to Service Agent creation will be possible only after confirming the milestone ‘Scoping Completed’. To do so, complete the steps below:

  1. Go to Business Configuration work center
  2. Go to view Implementation Projects
  3. Click on Edit Project Scope
  4. Select the relevant scope and click Finish

After performing the above steps the status of the First Implementation project in the Business Configuration work center will be In Preparation .  Now deploy the scope:

  1. Go to Work Center Business Configuration
  2. Go to view Implementation Projects
  3. Choose Open Activity List
  4. Open the activity Confirm Milestone: Design Accepted and check the Design Accepted box, then click Confirm
  5. Close the activity
  6. Close the activity list

A message is displayed in the middle of the Implementation Projects screen:  “Confirm Milestone: Design Accepted in process”.  Confirming the milestone can take up to 30 minutes to complete.  Refresh the view periodically to check the status.  Once finished, the message disappears; the Design Accepted milestone shows a green status and the First Implementation project status shows as Started.  The initial user must log off and log back into the solution.  Now he will have the Business Partners or Business Partner Data work center, depending on the SAP solution, in which he can add a service agent.

Note: There is also another case that after doing all the above steps, the Initial User may not be able to create a Service Agent, in this case, report an incident to SAP Support.
