1643979 - ForceLargerFonts registry key ignored in Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010

Symptom

  • Font shrinks by approximately 10% when a report is exported to Adobe Acrobat Format (PDF)
  • Font does not shrink when exporting to PDF format from Crystal Reports designer, with the registry key: ForceLargerFonts.
  • Font size decrease when exporting to PDF format from an application developed in Crystal Reports for Visual Studio, despite the registry key: ForceLargerFont is added.

Environment

  • SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create an application in Visual Studio 2010 that uses Crystal Reports for Visual Studio SDK
       
  2. Add the registry key: ForceLargerFonts, and set the value to: 1
        
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Crystal Reports\Export\PDF\ForceLargerFonts
          
  3. Export the report to PDF format from the application.
         
    Notice the font size in the PDF document in about 10% smaller than the font size set on the report.

Cause

  • SAP Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 does not rewad the registry key: ForceLargerFonts
  • The issue has been tracked under ADAPT0158906

Resolution

  • The issue is resolved in the following product update and above:
            
    • SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010
