1639333 - System is not Allowing to Maintain Price having more than two Digit in Product Catalog

Symptom

You are creating a new Customs Catalog and imports items from a CSV file. The items have prices with more than 2 decimals and you can import without any error but if you are trying to add via ByDesign screen you are getting error message Enter a value that matches the unit XXX and has a maximum of decimal places 2.
 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Product Portfolio work center.
  2. Go to Catalogs view.
  3. Select the button Open Catalog file Template.
  4. Under the column E Price and enter the amount having more than two decimal values.
  5. Enter other fields in CSV file and Import the same.
  6. Now add the item manually with price having 3 decimals digits.

You will get the error message Enter a value that matches the unit XXX and has a maximum of decimal places 2.

 

Cause

In current release system is not able to match the currency logic of the ByDesign System in the excel generator.

Resolution

In one of the next feature release of SAP Business ByDesign system will be able to validate the currency decimal values in CSV file.

Meanwhile you can follow the workaround below to solve the issue.

  1. Go to the Product Portfolio work center.
  2. Go to Catalogs view.
  3. Select the button Open Catalog file Template.
  4. Under the column E Price and enter the amount not having more than two decimal values.
  5. Enter other fields in CSV file and Import the same.
  6. Also add the item manually with price having 2 decimals digits and Save.
