Symptom

  • How to search for an infoset?
  • It is difficult to find an infoset in a large list of Infosets, how to filter the list?
  • In Crystal Reports, when creating a report and selecting the connection type: SAP Info Sets, it displays a large list of infosets, but the Data Explorer options only let me filter on Table name via the "Table name LIKE:" edit box. How to filter the list for specific infosets?

Environment

  • SAP Crystal Reports 2008
  • SAP Crystal Reports 2011
  • SAP Crystal Reports 2013
  • SAP Crystal Reports 2016

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Start Crystal Reports and Choose File | Options...
  2. On the Database Tab in the Data Explorer section the only options for filtering are Table and Owner. There is no option to filter Infosets.

Cause

  • The Data Explorer options are confusing as the "Table name LIKE" is not only for table names, but any type of objects, like: Infoset, stored procedures, views,...

Resolution

  • To filter down the list of Infosets displayed in Crystal Reports when creating a new report:

    1. Start Crystal Reports and Choose File | Options...
    2. On the Database Tab go to the Data Explorer section
    3. Enter the patterns for the Infoset oruery names you wish to use into the "Table names LIKE:" edit box
    4. Click OK
    5. When creating a new report off InfoSets, you will see the Infosets and Queries matching the patterns you entered.
