Symptom

When attempting to create a scheduled task in OnDemand Desktop Publisher I am able to select the source file that I want to publish to BI OnDemand with the server as https://bi.ondemand.com,   When I select on Path it tries to login and returns an error Invalid username or password.  I have not been able to get past this point to use the desktop publisher to automatically publish and refresh reports.  If and when this problems gets fixed, I will move forward with rolling out BI OnDemand to my employees.

Cause

Failure to log into the bi.ondemand.com server with the Desktop Publishing Tool concerns the edition of BIOD that is used.  The Desktop Publishing Tool does not work with the Basic edition.

Resolution

The bi.ondemand.com account must be the "Essential"  edition or higher.  The Desktop Publishing Wizard does not work with the Basic edition.

Upgrade the account to Essential,  or if testing,  contact your sales associate for a 30 day trial of a higher edition.
