Material ID XYZ not valid; it does not fall within the allowed range

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Product Portfolio Work Center.

Resolution

  1. Go to work center Business Configuration
  2. Select view Implementation Projects
  3. Select Open Activity list button.
  4. Select Fine Tune arrow at the top.
  5. Select fine tuning activity Number range for Materials. A new screen opens.
  6. Enter the length of the Material ID in the field Total Length (including prefix).
  7. Fill the fields Start Number and End Number according to your requirements and make sure to set Interval Type as Manual (Refer section 'See Also' for details).

Now you can able to define the Material ID using alphanumeric and Special characters.
