1203125 - Error: "The DataDirect ODBC driver you are attempting to access has been provided to you by Crystal Decisions for exclusive use with Crystal Reports"

Symptom

In Crystal Reports XI, when connecting to a data source through ODBC by passing a connection string to a Data Direct driver version 4, 5 or 5.1, the following Data Direct licensing warning message appears: 

"[DataDirect][ODBC name of the driver] The DataDirect ODBC driver you are attempting to access has been     provided to you by Crystal Decisions for exclusive use with Crystal Reports. You are not licensed to use this driver with any application other than Crystal Reports. If you would like to purchase a driver for some other use, please call 800-876-3101 or visit DataDirect at www.datadirect.com.

"Note that those Data Direct ODBC drivers have been downloaded from Business Objects website, and they should be licensed to be used with Crystal Reports."

Resolution

This known issue has been assigned ADAPT00630143, and affects the following:

  • Crystal Reports XI

Hot Fixes or Service Packs address this issue as indicated below.

Unless indicated otherwise, Critical Hot Fix updates from the FTP site have only been tested with English versions of our products.


CAUTION

Hot Fixes and Service Packs are not designed for OEM versions. Do not apply these updates if you are using an OEM version. To determine if you are using an OEM version, refer to the OEM Product Warning.

This issue is addressed in the following components (and later versions):

To determine if this issue is also addressed in a Monthly Hot Fix or Service Pack for your product, search the readme file for the Track ID number (that is, ADAPTXXXXXXXX) in the latest Monthly Hot Fix or Service Pack.

NOTE
