While running the application using VB (RDC) in the deployment machine with Crystal Reports XI and if the report contains parameter prompts (Calendar) in the report, you will get a script error. The issue does not happen in the development machine. While you are prompted with the parameter in the deployment machine you will get the below-given error on the parameter prompt:
When you click on "Ok" or anywhere on the parameter prompt you will be getting a script error:
"An error has occurred in the script on this page
Error: Object Expected
The issue occurs because the SP4 Merge modules do not contain the dll"s necessary for running a Calendar parameter.
The issue has been tracked and product group is working on the issue.
As an alternative solution, you can copy the "prompting" folder from the development to deployment machine. You can find the folder on the development machine (Working Machine):
1. Go to the specified folder: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\crystalreportviewers11\prompting"
2. Copy the entire "prompting" folder including subfolders and files to the non-working (deployment) machine, under the \crystalreportviewers11 folder. The final folder structure must look like this:
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\crystalreportviewers11\prompting", with css, html, images and js folders under the prompting folder.
