Symptom
- One or more custom holiday calendars for a specific year are not available in the system.
- The calendars are missing for a year, although the same calendars are available for other years.
- The calendars are correctly assigned to a working day calendar and all settings are correctly done.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Time Administration work center
- Open Time Sheet for an employee
- Select Review and Correct tab
- Show the affected holiday calendar
- Search for dates in the related year
- No holidays are available
Cause
This issue might be caused by a backend inconsistency. When the custom holiday calendars were originally created, the system generated them for a limited number of years (e.g. 10) only for performance reasons.
Resolution
Open an SAP incident so that development might extend the calendar in the backend. Please include the permission to do so. Afterwards, a correction run for the employees, that are assigned to the holiday calendar and have booked holidays in the affected year, is needed on customer side.
- First execute a Start Day Closure Run in The Time Administration work center, Regular Tasks view (with start date: first day of the affected year) for one employee. Please ensure that the box for "Include Backdated Labor Resource Changes" remains blank.
- Once this is done and the results are fine, execute a Administer Day Closure run (again with start date: first day of the affected year) for the impacted employees. The impacted employees will be employees who have the holiday calendar assigned to them and who are active during the affected year. Note: Here it is not possible deselect the option "Include Backdated Labor Resource Changes", they are not included anyway.
Note: A correction run is required, not a period closure. Therefore maintain the (correction) start date, not the Period closure.
