3261092 - What does "Preparing to Execute" in the data action log mean in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

In SAP Analytics Cloud for Planning (SAC), when you check the data action log of a data action in the data action monitor, you find the duration of the "Preparing to Execute" step is long (for example, 10 seconds taken by the "Preparing to Execute" step while the total duration of the data action is 30 seconds)

The "Preparing to Execute" process mainly processes the following steps:

• Validation model, dimension, hierarchy, member, property (For each steps)
• EPM action extension generation (Data action layer)
• Public edit version creation

In addition, the time consumed by "Preparing to Execute" is not proportional to the data action execution time. It depends on the number of steps and functions (DATA, RESULTLOOKUP,...) in the script and the size of the public version.
