3203026 - Expenses do not exist; CPIR not created

When you create scheduled project invoice request, no project invoice request is created as expected, and you find an open task via Project Management Work Center - Work View, with application log error: Expenses do not exist; CPIR not created.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Project Management Work Center.
2. Go to Projects View.
3. Select the project you want to create invoice for.
4. Click on 'New -> Project Incoice Request - Create Scheduled Project Invoice Request' button.
5. You receive messages:
• Invoice request triggered; see result in Work view in a few minutes.
• Your entries have been saved.
6. However, after waiting for a while, there is still no project invoice request created as expected.
7. Then navigate to Work View.
8. You find there is one open task 'Solve Issue When Creating Project Invoice Request'.
9. Check the Application Log, and navigate to Results tab, you find the error: Expenses do not exist; CPIR not created.

It is possible to create invoice request with invoicing method 'Fixed Price' if there is no actual delivery on the project.

However you are creating invoice request with invoicing method 'Time and Material'. This requires actual recordings against that task or material actually delivered on the project.

This is the expected behavior of SAP Business ByDesign system.

To be able to create a project invoice request for a project, it is required that the actual work recorded should be greater than zero or actual material delivered on the project.

If you receive error on created project invoice request: Release of project invoice request not possible. Quantity of all project invoice request items is zero, please check:

1913147 - You are not Able to Release the Project Invoice Request due to the Error Message "Quantity of project invoice request item XXX is zero. Project invoice request cannot be released. Assign expenses to the invoice item"

It is due to the same reason.
