3122311 - Auto-Locking of Business Users Is Not Working

Symptom

You noticed that auto-locking for some business users is not working as expected even if all conditions are followed and you would like to understand why this is occurring.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Resolution

The auto-locking could be ignoring those users because they could be 'indirectly' locked due to too many logon failed attempts.

You can check it following the steps below:

  1. Go to the Administrator work center.
  2. Go to the Business User view.
  3. Search for employee XYZ (XYZ represents the employee).
  4. Check if the checkbox 'password locked' is flagged and mouse over states the following: 

"This checkbox is automatically selected after too many failed logon attempts. If the checkbox is selected, the employee cannot logon to the system using the logon screen but only using a certificate."

 That's the reason why the auto-locking is skipping them.
