• How to Sync one user to SAC system in IPS
• How to avoid deleting existing users from SAC when applying a filter in IPS source system

SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite

Whenever a sync is run in the SuccessFactors source system, IPS saves a history of the users who got synced already to the target systems e.g. IAS, SAC. Therefore, if a filter is applied in the source in the next IPS sync, all users who don't meet the filter criteria will be deleted from the targets.

Important: If the users get deleted from SAC, the Story reports are moved to a technical user on the report center. So, in order to avoid this scenario, we can perform the following workaround in IPS:

Duplicating the Source system

1. Go to Source Systems
2. Select your SuccessFactors system
3. Click on Export
4. Save the .json file in your computer
5. Go back to IPS
6. Click on +Add
7. Import the .json file
8. Add a different System Name e.g. SuccessFactors-Filtered
9. Save it

Changing the Source in the Target SAC system

1. Go to Target Systems
2. Select the SAC system
3. Edit
4. Change the Source System
5. Select the new source created in the previous steps e.g. SuccessFactors-Filtered
6. Save it

Applying the filter and running the sync

1. Go back to Source systems
2. Select the new system e.g. SuccessFactors-Filtered
3. Go to Properties tab
4. Edit
5. Apply a filter in the sf.user.filter field e.g. username in 'username1','username2',etc  (replace the 'username1','username2'... with the ones from your system)
   (For api V2, use this filter condition: active eq "true" and userName eq "sf_username1_placeholder" or userName eq "sf_username2_placeholder")
6. Save it
7. Go to Jobs tab
8. Run the Sync
