2985577 - How to import Writing Assistant content in Provisioning

Symptom

This article clarifies how to import Writing Assistant content via Provisioning.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Job Description Manager
  • SAP SuccessFactors Job Profile Builder
  • SAP SuccessFactors Talent Intelligence Hub

Resolution

Kindly find below how to generate a "template" for the import of Writing Assistant content:

  1. Go to Provisioning;
  2. Search for "Competency Libraries";

  3. Click on the required Competency Library;
  4. Select the desired Competency;
  5. Click on "Teasers";

  6. On the "New Teaser" box, type a new Teaser name and hit the "Create" button;

  7. Then, go back to the Competency Library;
  8. Select the Competency to which the new Teaser was added and download it;

  9. Open the downloaded .csv file and confirm that the recently created Teaser is listed;

    This is the file format that should be used when importing Writing Assistant content in Provisioning.

Now, this file can be used as template that should be used when bulk importing Writing Assistant Data.

Which should be done by following the steps below:

  1. Go to "Import New Competency Libraries";

  2. Select the .csv file containing the data to import (please note that file formats other than .csv are not supported);
  3. Type the exact name of the Competency Library to which the Teasers will be imported to, in the "Library Name" box (otherwise, a new Library could be created, or the content could be added to a different Library);
  4. Flag the "Override existing teasers and its writing assistant/coaching advisor contents" and the "Override existing behaviors" checkbox;

  5. Finally, hit the "Import" button.

    Then, please feel free to run all necessary tests in order to make sure the Teasers were successfully imported to the system.

Please note that in case some or all Competencies to which Teasers are being added are flagged as "Core", when the import is complete, this value will be cleared out and set to the default, which is "False".

Because there is no way to provide a core flag value in the import.

However, as a way to set all the required Competencies to "Core" again, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to "Manage Job Profile Content Import/Export";
  2. Download the existing Competencies record;
  3. Update the "Core" column with "True";
  4. Import the updated file to the system via "Manage Job Profile Content Import/Export";
  5. See that the Competencies will be set to "Core" again, in "Manage Job Profile Content".

Note:

If the system with Job Description Manager solution (JDM) was successfully upgraded to Talent Intelligence Hub (3327912 - Migrating Job Description Manager Data to Talent Intelligence Hub - SAP for Me), Writing Assistant and Coaching Advisor import is not supported.

In this case you can only maintain each item individually via Admin Center - Manage Writing Assistant and Coaching Advisor.

If you don't use Performance Management forms, please consider a new option in TIH that allows to have customized descriptions of what a proficiency level means for each skill or competency. To know more about this option follow the guide Configuring the Proficiency Level Scale | SAP Help Portal.

Please monitor Road Map Explorer to find out if Writing Assistant and Coaching Advisor import will be introduced in the future releases.
