2960233 - Tax item of doc. ABC of type Supplier Invoice, event Domestic Purchase and rate Social and Educational Services not assigned to box - Error in Tax Return Run for Italy

You execute a VAT return run for Italy. It fails with the error message 'Tax item of doc. ABC of type Supplier Invoice, event Domestic Purchase and rate Social and Educational Services not assigned to box'.

ABC means the supplier invoice ID.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Tax Management work center.
2. Go to the VAT Return Runs view.
3. Select Run ID AAA (AAA means the VAT Return Run ID).
4. Open the respective application log.
5. See the error message in Results tab:

'Tax item of doc. ABC of type Supplier Invoice, event Domestic Purchase and rate Social and Educational Services not assigned to box'

In supplier invoice ABC a custom tax code is used, which in turn has been assigned to Tax Event 10 - Domestic Purchase. However, the Tax Event 10 is not assigned to Tax Return Type 1 - Summary Register, for Italy.

The tax event to be assigned to the custom tax code in this case is 43 - Purchase of Social and Educ. Services from Social Cooperation. Law 208/2015.

Instead of using a custom code here, rather use the standard tax code 77 - Purchase of Social and Educ. Services from Social Cooperation. Law 208/2015, which is already tied to Tax Event 43 and Tax Rate Type 5 -  Social and Educational Services.
