Resolution

Information on changes per new Learning Administration user interface:

  • The landing page is governed under System Administration > Configurations > Global Application Settings > Introduction Panel ID.
  • The default landing page was the DEFAULT_ADMIN_INTRO which can be found under System Administration > Application Administration > User Introductions.
  • A new default landing page is being used of the b2005 release which is DEFAULT_LEARNING_ADMINISTRATION_INTRO.
  • If the Introduction Panel ID is set to DEFAULT_ADMIN_INTRO, it will be updated to DEFAULT_LEARNING_ADMINISTRATION_INTRO during the upgrade. Both panels will not be editable. A new panel will need to be created.
  • The label ID of the DEFAULT_LEARNING_ADMINISTRATION_INTRO is label.ADMIN_HOME.WelcomeMessage.
  • If you wish to pull a name from Learning to display in the default intro please add the parameter \{0\}

Sample: Hi \{0\}, new to SuccessFactors Administration? You can use the question icon in the header toolbar to get Learning Administration help at any time

If you wish to backup the data follow these steps:

  1. Proceed to Learning Administration
  2. Go to System Administration > Application Administration > User Introductions
  3. Find the specific User Introduction you were using
  4. Edit the entity
  5. Copy the Data section

If a new Introduction Panel is required follow the below steps:

  1. Proceed to Learning Administration
  2. Go to System Administration > Application Administration > User Introductions
  3. Create a new User Introduction Panel and place the text/HTML in the Data field
  4. Proceed to System Administration > Configurations > Global Application Settings
  5. Edit the Introduction Panel ID to the newly created User Introduction Panel
  6. Apply Changes

Note: Custom HTML assistance is outside the scope of Product Support. A small example is provided in the User Assistance Documentation (login may be required). Images must be hosted on a server and the absolute URL must be used. In case you do not have a server to host the image on, please see 2157471.

Data field should be populated to prevent Admins to receive an error message: Error message = SQLException - Could not create com.plateausystems.elms.bo.uidata.impl.UIDataServiceImpl record. Field is not set as mandatory on LMS UI but should be populated when creating a new User Introduction panel.
