Improvements to Talent Pools starting b1911 release particularly filtering and and ability to select fields to display.

Resolution

What is it?

  • Talent pool users can now filter and search the nominees in a talent pool. The filter fields can be personalized according to their preference.
  • Users can also add, remove, and rearrange columns in the nomination table according to their preference.
  • Besides the Division, Department and Location, configurable fields include employee’s talent flags and 15 customer fields from employee profile. Users can select up to 15 fields to display at one time.
  • Admin users can configure which fields of those fields, which are theoretically supported, should really be visible to talent pool users.

Why is it Important?

Customers often have global pools, but then HR users would like to review talent pool nominees just from certain locations or divisions. For example: as preparation for succession planning, talent review meetings, or refill discussions. Therefore, flexibility in filtering, sorting and searching across pool nominees is considered as vital by all HR users.

Prerequisites:

For admin users, you need to enable this via RBP > Manage Succession > Talent Pool Field Configuration.

Filter fields can be configured by Administrators via Admin Center > Manage Talent Pool Field Settings.

The selected fields will be display options in the Talent Pool page. By default, Readiness and Job Title are selected and no option to disable these filters.

Besides the Division, Department, and Location, configurable fields include employee’s talent flags and 15 custom fields from employee profile. Fields like Gender, are not a selectable filter.

Notes:

  • The fields that display in 'Manage Talent Pool Field Settings’ show all the options you can use as filters in the Talent Pool.
  • The fields 'Notes' 'Readiness' 'Job Title' and 'Status' cannot be unchecked. 
  • The 'Notes' field is for adding notes to a Talent Pool nomination:

a Name and Username search: Allows the user to search for the name or username, it will search (first, middle, last) names as long as fields are configurable searchable/visible in RBP.
b Expand/Collapse Header: Allows user to display or collapse the filters and user search fields.
c Pin/Unpin Header: This will pin the filter/header area. Applicable for narrow window or to provide navigational preference. See this video for visual reference.

Adapt Filters: Allow users to select/deselect filters. Selected filters are shown in this page. To see the unselected filters, you need to click "More filters" at the bottom. All filters shown here are configured through Manage Talent Pool field settings in Admin Center.

Define column properties: This enables the user where to position fields and set visibility of fields/columns in Talent Pool Nominations area.

f Show and Edit Talent Pool: Change and view Talent Pool data, this includes switching "Enable readiness" values, code or effective status. Only visible to Users with "View Current" / "View history" permission for Talent Pools under miscellaneous permissions in RBP. Edit permission for users with "Insert" / "Correct" / "Delete" miscellaneous permissions under the same object.
g Add nominations: This option will only show to users with "Add/edit/delete Talent Pool nominations" under "View Talent Pool nominations" in RBP > Succession Planners section.
h Actions column: Delete and edit nominations, only available for users with "Add/edit/delete Talent Pool nominations" in RBP > Succession Planners section.

Compare Nominees: It opens Talent Card to allow users to compare nominations based on the fields visible in Talent Card. Fields in Talent Card can be configured through Admin Center > Presentations > Manage Talent Card > Succession Talent Card

j Nominee Filters: Designed for Talent Pools with huge number of nominations to allow users easily filter nominees based on available criteria configured through Manage Talent Pool field settings in Admin Center and Adapt Filters.

Nomination History: It displays any action made to the end user such as which nominee was added to a pool at which time by whom; and has been changed by whom/when.
