2831953 - The Following Error is Displayed for an Item in an External Customer Invoice Request: Type of product not valid

You created an External Customer Invoice Request via the Web Service and when opening the External Invoice Request the following error occurs for an Item:

 Item XX: Type of product not valid

 SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Customer Invoicing work center.
2. Select Invoice Requests view. 
3. Open External Customer Invoice Request ABC (ABC represents the ID of the Invoice Request).
4. Go to Items tab.
5.  the following error is displayed: Item XX: Type of product not valid (XX represents the Line Item ID).

Line Item XX is of Product Type Entitlement. Entitlements typically represent rights to products that are redeemed by the customer on an ad-hoc basis. Products that are provided on a traditional basis are represented in the Product Data work center as services or materials. Therefore, Entitlements cannot be selected in External Customer Invoice Requests, Manual Credit Memos and Manual Invoice Requests.

This is the expected System behavior.

You need to ensure that the item you are passing via the Web Service is of Product Type Product or Service.
