2829261 - Respect Role Based Permissions in Time Management UI Defaulted to Yes / Default RBP will be respected.

Symptom

With b1908 the field 'Respect role based permissions in Time Management UI' has been removed from the system. Permissions are then respected by default in time management UIs.

Environment

Employee Central, Time Off.

Reproducing the Issue

Example issues you may experience after this change:

(If you had 'Respect role based permissions in Time Management UI' set to No, and Time off objects secured but RBP not granted)

  • New Absence button is missing in workbench / Time Off ESS UI
  • Absence requests are not shown for some users in workbench

Cause

Prior to 1908 there was a field called 'Respect role based permissions in Time Management UIs' (in which the visibility needed to be enabled in the object definition) this field was located in the 'Time Management Configuration' object.

From 1908  by default RBP permissions will be respected.

Resolution

The RBP push will affect only those customers who have set the field ‘Respect role based permissions in Time Management UIs  to No’ in Time Management Configuration.

If you have set ‘Secured = Yes’ for any Time Off objects (Employee Time, Time Type, Time Account etc) via configure object definition, but not maintained proper permission settings in your user roles yet, you will see the affects in time management UIs.

You should aslo check permissions for Time Account under Manage Time Off section.

See KBA 2738050 - New Absence button is missing, Leave of Absence

All customers affected by the RBP push need to maintain proper permission settings for the object definitions (and its child objects, if they have been secured as well) for all of their user roles who have access to the UIs.

Please also check the target population of the given permission roles, to ensure the rile with the time off object permissions inlcude permission for self / direct reports / whoever they would need to request /edit absence requests for.
