2798721 - Custom Discount List or Price List Does Not Appear in the Discount List OWL

Symptom

You created a Custom Discount List or a Custom Price List but you are not able to see the newly created discount list/price list in the OWL (Object Work List) or it appears under multiple Discount or Price Lists types.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

The issue applies for both Discount and Price Lists. We will use Discount Lists as an example.

  1. Go to the Product and Service Portfolio work center.
  2. Select the Discount List view.
  3. In the Show field select CDL (CDL represents the description of you custom discount list).
  4. Click on the New button and create Discount List XYZ (XYZ represents the newly created discount list).
  5. Enter all respective data and Save and then Release the Discount List.
  6. Select the Advance Search and Remove the Valid from and to dates.
  7. Click on Go
  8. The search does not retrieve any results and you cannot see Discount List XYZ in the OWL and instead displays: No records found

Cause

The reason why the custom discount lists or price lists they are not visible in the UI under the Discount Lists or Price Lists is due to the fact that there are two pricing tables with the same key which are used in the access sequence. Both Pricing Tables have the same fields e.g the field Company. One Pricing Table is used in a Price List and the other Pricing Table  is used in the custom discount list CDL. When the system tries to query the discount lists it finds the other table and tries to retrieve an associated discount list but since the other Pricing Table is used, none is available.

Resolution

You need to ensure that you do not create duplicated Pricing Tables.

To solve the issue, you need to use the same Pricing Table in both discount list and price list and remove the duplicated Pricing Table from the Pricing Group Assignments and then also from the Access Sequence of either the respective custom price list or custom discount list. You can then create a new custom price/discount list ensuring the same Pricing Table is used in the price and discount list.

In our example you created custom Pricing Table CUSXZY (CUSXZY represents the name of the Pricing Table) with the Field Company. However, there is already a standard pricing table CUSCOMP2 with the same filed assigned.

The Pricing Table CUSCOMP2 is used in a Price List and CUSXZY is used in a Discount List on header level.

To solve the issue you need to perform the following steps:

  1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
  2. Select the Implementation Project view.
  3. Select the Implementation project and click on Open Activity.
  4. In the Fine Tune tab select the activity Configure Price Strategy and click on Open.
  5. Select the Pricing Group Assignments hyperlink.
  6. Select the pricing group Discounts.
  7. Select the discount list which is using the header Pricing Table CUSXZY and click Remove.
  8. Click on Save and Close.
  9. Select the Access Sequence hyperlink.
  10. Select the access sequence ACH Discount List on Header Level.
  11. Select the Pricing Table CUSXZY and click on the Remove button.
  12. Click on the Add Row button.
  13. Add the standard Pricing Table CUSCOMP2.
  14. Click on Save and Close.
  15. Select the Pricing Group Assignments hyperlink.
  16. Select the pricing group Discounts.
  17. Click on Add Row.
  18. Enter the same Description as for the Discount List you removed in step 7 and assign the header Pricing Table CUSCOMP2 and the same Item Pricing Table used in the custom discount list you removed.
  19. Save and close.
