2746724 - Employment Details behavior after Rehire record is deleted from Job History - Employee Central

Symptom

  • You rehired an employee into the system which reset the Employment Details - Start Date / Hire Date to the value of the Rehire Date
  • An HR Admin deletes the Rehire record from Job Information History and you noticed that the Hire Date / Start Date in Employment Details is still set to the Rehire date

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Employment Details

Reproducing the Issue

  • Rehire a Terminated employee into the system.
  • The Employment Details will be updated to new dates with respect to the Rehire Date.
  • Go to Job History > Delete the Rehire record
  • The dates in Employment Details remain the same (i.e. Hire Date is still equal to Rehire Date)

Resolution

Access and Actions to Job Information History are considered as administrative HR activities. When a Rehire record is deleted from Job History, we do not automatically update the Employment Details. To ensure data consistency, the HR Admin also has to make sure that once the Rehire record is removed, the Employment Details are also updated with the correct value. This can be done via Employment Details import. All the adjustments (to fix the Hire Data values and retain the Termination Details) can be done via import.
