2683871 - Job Requisition: The field Job Start Date cannot be changed due to configurations issues - Recruiting Management

Symptom

When clicking on the standard Job Start Date field (id="jobStartDate") on a Job Requisition, the following error pops up:

"The field Job Start Date cannot be changed due to configurations issues. Please contact your System Administrator."

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Job Requisition Details page
  2. Click on the Job Start Date field and try to set a date
  3. The error pops up

Cause

The Recruiting Settings "Allow users to select only those instances that are active as of the date in the Job Start Date field in the Job Requisition and Offer Detail pages" is checked but operator doesn't have Write permission to the Location object field ("location_obj").

This behavior is relevant to an enhancement below since b1805.

1. If the Location field has a value selected previously and is read-only or not shown on the UI, when the user changes the Job Start Date, the following error message should be shown in pop-up "The field <JobStartDate Label> cannot be changed due to configuration issues. Please contact your System Administrator."

2. The pop-up would only have one option "OK".

Reason of this enhancement: The Job Start Date can be changed by the user on the Job Requisition. This could impact the effective dated Location field.

Resolution

Please grant the operator role with Write permission to the Location object field ("location_obj") in Job Requisition XML template.

Note:

  • You will need to re-select the Location values if you update the Job Start Date.
  • If the operator has Write permission to the Location field, the system will display a message pop-up "Changing the field jobStartDate would delete all the existing values for the field Location. Do you wish to continue?".
