2683467 - Apply with LinkedIn 2.0 - SuccessFactors Recruiting

Symptom

  • The LinkedIn 2.0 integration allows clients to use the fully supported Apply with LinkedIn feature and simplifies the configuration for Recruiting using only a single supported version for Recruiting (RCM/RMK) clients
  • The previous integration is no longer available. Apply With Linkedin 2.0 is the only available configuration
  • Error: You need to be an admin of an offline contract with recruiter seats in order to access this page

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting
  • SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Marketing

Resolution

Implementation

For more details how to implement Apply with LinkedIn 2.0 refer to How to Setup Apply with LinkedIn

The workflow for configuring Apply with LinkedIn follows these steps:

  1. Configure Recruiting Management for Apply with LinkedIn
  2. Configure Recruiting Marketing for Apply with LinkedIn
  3. Reload the Recruiting Marketing instance
  • The site reload trigger allows the Recruiting Marketing system to check the client integrated Recruiting Management site for the appropriate LinkedIn 2.0 credentials
  • If LinkedIn 2.0 has been properly configured Recruiting Management sends the API credentials to the Recruiting Marketing system during site reload
  • The API credentials are used for the Apply with LinkedIn 2.0 feature and workflows

SuccessFactors Prerequisites

  • Client must be using RMK and RCM
  • The RMK site must be configured to use Candidate Account Simplification (CAS)
  • The RMK site must have the Social Profile configured to use LinkedIn

Note: Enabling the locale under Social Profile, the code for Apply with LinkedIn might be disabled by the insertion of <!-- --> . This will need to be removed for the code to take effect

  • Generic objects
  • Role-based permissions

LinkedIn Prerequisites

  • Client should have an established contract with LinkedIn
  • The admin user, who sets up the LinkedIn account, needs to have recruiter permissions/recruiter license on LinkedIn site ("LinkedIn Admin Account")
    • It can be any user, as long as they have a recruiter license. If this user ever deletes their account, the Integration will fail
  • Client must be using LinkedIn Recruiter or LinkedIn Job Slots to use this feature. Contact your LinkedIn Representative for more details

Browser Prerequisites

  • Popup blocker should be disabled
  • Third-Party Cookies should be enabled

Expected Behavior

  • The screenshot below shows what happens with the candidate using Apply with LinkedIn 2.0
  • In the previous implementation, the widget related to Apply LinkedIn was controlled by RMK. Now LinkedIn controlls the widget

apply_with_linkedin.jpg

  • This widget and everything inside it is not configurable
  • In this context, you can see a mix of language content, because LinkedIn controlls the language based on the browser's settings language and/or user's account
  • It is possible to have a situation in which the LinkedIn widget is in the German language and RMK site is in the English language
  • This is expected behavior since SAP is following LinkedIn recommendation for the implementation

Note: Depending upon whether the user is already signed in to their LinkedIn account or not, the workflow will be slightly different. A user already signed in to Linkedin will not be prompted to login and will be directly taken to the RCM account creation page where their LI account data like name and email address will be prepopulated. Once they create their RCM profile, they will see their account details, like previous employment or education, will also be prepopulated (provided the mapping configuration is done of course)

  • A user not signed in will get the following Linkedin sign in popup first:

Note: When a candidate chooses to use 'Apply with LinkedIn' to apply to a job, LinkedIn does not pass individual address fields back to SuccessFactors Recruiting. They only provide 'Location' information such as "Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area", which cannot translate to street, city, zipcode, state format needed by Candidate Profile. Therefore, the address fields for Candidate Profile are not filled in from LinkedIn
