2677661 - b1808: Flexible Configuration of Deduction Sequence for Time Accounts

Symptom

Previously, absences can only be deducted from time accounts based on the posting order options such as Newest First or Oldest First as defined in the Time Account Type:

  • Newest First - any time off requests will be posted against the newest account available. When the new time account is empty, requests will be then taken from the available older accounts.
  • Oldest First - any time off requests will be posted against the oldest account available. When the oldest account is empty, requests will then taken from the newer accounts

Resolution

With 1808 release, absences can now be flexibly deducted from time accounts based on posting priority and posting order on Time Type and posting order on Time Account Type such that the absences can be deducted from the time account with the earliest expiry date first.

In a new field called "Posting Priority" in the Time Type, following options can be set to define the deduction sequence for time accounts:

1. Post to time accounts by defined time account type period - If this option is selected, time account period (account validity/bookable period) is considered first during deduction of absence and you can further defined the posting order for the time type. Posting Order field will be shown when this priority is selected to further define how absence will be deducted from the time account.

Options are: Newest First by Validity Period, Oldest First by Validity Period , Newest First by Bookable Period and 'Oldest First by Bookable Period'.
