2675420 - E-mail notifications from C4C sent to Junk folder of end user's Outlook

Symptom

E-mail notifications sent from C4C arrive in your junk folder in Outlook.

Environment

SAP Cloud For Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. In Outlook, click the inbox and search for the relevant e-mail from C4C.
  2. Click the Junk E-mail folder and search for the same e-mail.

You will find that particular e-mail in the junk folder despite it not actually being spam.

Cause

This issue may occur due to one of the following reasons

  1. Wrong flag or filter setup.
  2. Unverified domain setup.
  3. Routing from a fallback server.

Resolution

  1. The Outlook Junk E-mail Filter moves suspected spam to the Junk E-mail folder. You can adjust the Junk E-mail Filter settings in the Junk E-mail Options dialog box.
  2. Mail from unverified domains will be routed to the junk folder. Check the domain settings in Outlook.
  3. Mail will be considered as junk sometimes while routing through central gateways. Check the exchange server settings.

This should be first checked by your local IT department to make sure all settings are fine.
