2654963 - Error in Revenue Recognition: A mix of Different Merge Method Codes is not Supported

You have executed a revenue recognition run. For a given sales order item the error 'Doc. item <document ID and item ID>: A mix of different merge method codes is not supported' is reported.

SAP Business ByDesign.

1. Go to the Cost and Revenue work center.
2. Go to the Periodic Tasks - Revenue Recognition view.
3. Find and open the related run.
4. Go to the Messages tab.

You see the error as follows: 'Doc. item <document ID and item ID>: A mix of different merge method codes is not supported'

The document item in the error message has accrual method 108-Recognize using cost-to-cost project POC assigned.  However,  it's leading item has no accrual method assigned.

In order to verify the accrual method and leading items, please follow below steps:

1. Go to the  Cost and Revenue work center.
2. Go to the Sales Document Items view.
3. Find the related sales order item.
4. Highlight the one mentioned in the error message.
5. Navigate to the Accounting Data tab. You see that the accrual method is 108-Recognize using cost-to-cost project POC. You also find the leading sales order item ID.
6. Search for the leading sales order item. You see that for the leading item, no accrual method is set.

When working with accrual method 108-Recognize using cost-to-cost project POC, it is mandatory to have this accrual method assigned to all sales order items of revenue type project sales fixed price. You therefore need to assign the accrual method 108-Recognize using cost-to-cost project POC to the leading item also. Then execute the revenue recognition run again. You may also check if there are further fix price items of this sales order missing the accrual method 108-Recognize using cost-to-cost project POC.
