2641478 - You Get Error Message: Costs not Determined:Valuation not Successful:Fuilure of all Steps of Valuation Strategy 'Valuation for Operational Applications'

You have maintained the cost in the product master data, but still get error message that cost is not determined when creating servce quote.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Service Orders work center.
2. Go to the Service Qutoes view.
3. Search service quote ABC and open it. (ABC represnts the ID of service quote).
4. You will see the error message appears: costs not determined:Valuationnot successful:Fuilure of all steps of valuation strategy 'Valuation for operational applications'.
5. Go to Pricing and Invoicing - Pricing tab, click Expand All button to show the pricing details of all items.
6. You see that the Cost price componnt for product XYZ is missing. (XYZ represnts the ID of the item product)
7. Open the product XYZ master data and go to Valuation tab.
8. The cost is properly maintained and it is valid.

You want to know why the product cost is not determined in the service quote document.

The reason why you are getting the costing error in service quote for the product is because external source of supply for spare parts of type engineer pick up (PICK) or advanced ship (SHIP) is not supported in service quote or service order.

1. Open the Service Qutoe ABC.
2. In General tab, you have maintained the Supplier in the quote which means it is external supplied document.
3. Go to Services and Spare Sparts tab.
4. Select the line of product XYZ, the Item Type is PICK - Spare part - Engineer pick up/sales.

You need to maintain internal source of suppliy for the spare part material, and then remove the item line from the service quote and add it again into the quote.
