2604712 - User not showing in Global Job Information table - Advanced Reporting

Symptom

  • User is not showing in Global Job Information table
  • A specific employee is missing in Global Job Information table
  • The same user is showing properly in Personal Information table

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite

Cause

The user has ASSIGNMENT_TYPE (of EMP_EMPLOYMENT_INFO) as NULL.

The mentioned user has ASSIGNMENT_TYPE (of EMP_EMPLOYMENT_INFO) as NULL. This column is used as a hard-wired filter on the Global Job Information view where ASSIGNMENT_TYPE is not null. The value of this column is expected to be either ST (for Home Assignment), GA (for Global Assignment), or PP( for Pension Payout). Hence, he does not show up in advanced reporting.

ASSIGNMENT_TYPE is a field in EC to determine if the user is a home assignment, global assignment, or pension payout user. Also, IS_EC_SYSTEM_OF_RECORD field to determine if it is an EC record.

For reporting, we only consider a valid EC users, which means, they must have ASSIGNMENT_TYPE set to either ST, GA or PP and they must be EC record (IS_EC_SYSTEM_OF_RECORD = 1).

The only reason this flag is set to 0 is when EC is turned off on creation, if EC is turned on this will not happen.

When we do a basic user info import, it creates a biographical and employment record for the user with default values for IS_EC_SYSTEM_OF_RECORD as 0 and ASSIGNMENT_TYPE as NULL. At this point of time, the user is still not an EC user as indicated by these flags.

We need to do an employment info upload to set the values for these flags thereby converting the user to an EC user.

Resolution

To resolve this issue we need to do an employment info upload for the users. Please go to Admin Center --> Import Employee Data and download the employment details template. Fill the template with the user data and import it.

Please note that there might be other records in EMPLOYMENT_INFO (for technical reasons) which stand for non-EC data. These have ASSIGNMENT_TYPE = null AND IS_EC_SYSTEM_OF_RECORD = 0. Any other combinations would be an inconsistency within EC.
