2594796 - Button Edit Without Business Roles is Disabled

Symptom

You are trying to edit the access rights of a business user, but notice that the button Edit Without Business Roles is disabled.

Environment

  • SAP Business ByDesign.
  • SAP Cloud for Customer.

Reproducing the Issue

In SAP Cloud for Customer:

  1. Navigate to the Administrator work center.
  2. Go to the General Settings tab.
  3. Click Business Users.
  4. Select a business user in which to perform the changes.
  5. Click Edit and then choose Access Rights.
  6. The button Edit Without Business Roles is disabled.

In SAP Business ByDesign:

  1. Navigate to the Application and User Management work center.
  2. Go to the Business Users view.
  3. Select the business user in which to perform the changes.
  4. Click Edit and then choose Access Rights.
  5. The button Edit Without Business Roles is disabled.

Cause

The business user which you wish to edit is currently part of an active substitution (either substituting another business user or being substituted by one). In such cases, the Edit Without Business Roles button will be disabled to prevent changes that may lead to inconsistencies during the substitution.

Resolution

Once the substitution involving this business user is terminated, the button Edit Without Business Roles will become active again for the business user's Access Rights screen.
