2590034 - How to modify admin and user side Weekend Calendar days

Symptom

1) When we create schedule offering from one of the items, the calendar view shows that (Saturday, Sunday) as grayed out (weekend)

2) how can we change it based on our weekend days (Friday, Saturday) or any other combination

Reproducing the Issue

Even after fixing the Work Week Profile for Scheduled Offering as per the KBA-2180271, the system is not graying out the weekend days for the admins.

Cause

The conditions of admins using the application would vary because the application can be accessed by people all around the globe. For example: An employee who is using Arabic language can be currently working in China and China might follow a different work week so there is no fixed date pattern that we could define as there are so many sub/alternate conditions/paramaters we could have for the users/admins. For now, the calendar is fixed this way because of reasons like that.

Resolution

Admin Side: A more commonly used Monday to Friday is used for that as a default pattern at the application level.

User Side: Whereas for the users, we could modify the first day of the week or the weekends in the Catalog (this changes would reflect for all the users and is not region or language specific)

- This configuration has been moved recently to:

  • System Admin>
  • Configuration>
  • System Configuration>
  • Library.

- You could make the following changes there (if you want Sunday to appear first with Friday and Saturday as the weekends)

This would affect only the user's calendar(under calendar view) and not the admin side(not any calendars in the admin side)

If you require this in the admin side, you could raise this in the community portal if this is a concern via a new thread/query for an enhancement or instance customization.

Enhancement: You could always raise this an enhancement request in the Customer community portal and with business reasons, our engineering team would look into this request based on the Kudos that it garners along with the reason of the request and they might implement. This usually takes time. Check KBA-2167560 that explains this.

Instance Customization: You have to reach out to the Managed Services (for any customization or changes in the system-Paid service) team to get the concern addressed. Please reach out to your Customer Success Manager or the Sales Contact from SAP who would help you get in touch with the Managed Services and they would tell you if this a feasible request along with the quote and we do not have that info.
