2553084 - 'Set of books ABC, company XYZ; Service cost rates already exist' Error Message While Changing Company Currency

You receive an error message while you try to change the Company Currency for Company XYZ in Set of Books ABC:

'Set of books ABC, company XYZ; Service cost rates already exist'

(or)

'Set of books ABC, company XYZ; Resource cost rates already exist'

(ABC stands for Set of Books ID and XYZ for Company ID)

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to the Overview view.
3. Search and Open the Set of Books activity.
4. Select the row of Set of Books ABC.
5. Click Edit.
6. Go to the Company Settings tab.
7. Select the row of Company ID XYZ.
8. Change Company Currency (for example, from Euro to US Dollar).

Error message is thrown: 'Set of books ABC, company XYZ; Service cost rates already exist'.

(Or)

'Set of books ABC, company XYZ; Service cost rates already exist'

The error message is valid here. There are Service Cost Rates created for the combination of Company ID XYZ and Set of Books ABC.

You can check this by following the steps below:

1. Go to the Cost and Revenue work center.
2. Go to the Allocation > Service Cost Rates view.
3. Show All Cost Rates.

Here you'll find the respective Service Cost Rates.

(Or)

1. Go to the Cost and Revenue work center.
2. Go to the Allocation > Resource Cost Rates view.
3. Show All Cost Rates.

Here you'll find the respective Resource Cost Rates.

If the respective service/resource cost rate has not been used in any valuation, you can delete it.

If after deleting the service cost rate there are no other constraints that prevent the change of company currency (e.g. journal entries already exist, material costs already exist, etc.) you'll be able to change the company currency successfully.

To delete the service cost rates, please follow the steps:

1. Go to the Cost and Revenue work center.
2. Go to the Allocation > Service/Resource Cost Rates view.
3. Select the row of respective Service/resource Cost Rate and click Delete button.
4. A confirmation pop-up is raised and you should click Delete.
