2518756 - How to Perform a Partial Sale of an Individual Material

You want to know how to perform a Partial Sale of an Individual Material.

1. Go to the Fixed Assets work center.
2. Go to the Fixed Asset View.
3. Search for the Fixed Asset ID XXX (XXX represents the ID of the Fixed Asset).
4. Go to the Master Data tab.
5. Select the Individual Material subtab.

Here you can see in the Individual Material Description that the product has multiple amounts that are capitalized under the same Individual Material.

You want to sell a portion of this individual material instead of the full amount, for example the Individual material has 40 items and you only want to sell 20 of these items.

1. Go to the Fixed Assets  work center.
2. Go to the Fixed Asset view.
3. Create a new Fixed Asset.
4. Transfer the required amount of IMAT (Individual Material) to this new Fixed Asset with the new Individual Material ID (in this example you would transfer 20 of the original 40 items).
5. Create a Customer Invoice using the new Individual Material ID.

Note:

1. If the Fixed Asset has been capitalized in the same year then this partial sale should take place the value of the transfer posting should be the acquisition costs.
2. If the Fixed Asset has been capitalized in a different year the value of the transfer posting should be the acquisition costs minus the depreciation costs.
