The OCN (Open Content Network) vendor provides a course duration. Where does the course duration get stored and how is it populated?

What is the course duration?

The duration provided by the vendor is not the same as the Duration, Credit Hours, Contact Hours, or CPE Hours on the Item record. The duration information is not a mandatory field that is sent by the vendor thus not all OCN courses will have this data. This field is how long the vendor states that the course will take.

Where can I see the course duration?

A user is able to see this OCN Course Duration on the Item Details that provides them information such as the description of the Item. Administrators are able to see the OCN Course Duration under the Item record > OCN Course Sessions tab.

How does the course duration field get populated?

The OCN duration field is sent by the vendor when the Item is created (or updated) via an API. Please refer to the parameters that are sent by the vendor and validate if the vendor can send any non-mandatory fields that you require. If the parameter is not part of the API, the vendor cannot send it.
