Resolution

The Company Structure Overview feature for Employee Central is available in the 1705 release. Please utlize the Company Structure Overview implementation handbook for further information

Company Structure Overview enables companies to visualize one or even more Company Structures. Therefore you make use of MDF object types (e.g. Business Unit, Division, Department, Cost Center) and their relationships. Furthermore customers are able to define the UI per defined Company Structure.

This feature enables you to provide one or several views for different target users in your Company Structures. Hereby users can directly start transactions from the Organizational Structure e.g. edit a Business Unit or start an action for an employee.

Creating a Company Structure

  1. Navigate to Admin Center > Manage Data > Create New and select "Company Structure Definition"
  2. Insert a unique "Code" value and give the Company Structure Definition a label
  3. Add 1 item (the structure to follow) for example we will add Legal Entity & Department relationship -:

DepartmentStructure.jpg

NOTE:

  • Target Object = The Object ID of the Object you want to filter on
  • Relationship Name = The Association Name of the Association definition on the Target Object
  • Source Object = The Object ID of the Object which the Relationship Name points to

In our above example, the Target "Department" has a "Valid When" association "cust_toLegalEntity" to the LegalEntity object.

You can also configure the "Relationship Type" to "Field". For example if the Department object has a custom field defined as Generic Object > LegalEntity (example field name - cust_LegalEntity) you can also create the Structure from this type of association. In that scenario, the "Relationship Name" would be the name of the LegalEntity field on the Department object. The Source and Target values would remain the same.

Accessing the Company Structure Overview
