2438812 - Check Tool: How to use Check Tool to check if there are any Orphan Person ID Externals in the system. (OrphanPerson)

Check Tool is available to check for existing Data and Configuration issues. For this article, we would focus on identifying Orphaned Person IDs for your instance.

• Orphaned Person IDs could cause a host of problems e.g. Import issues, proxy issues, application errors when navigating to an Employee's page and etc.
• Person ID external is considered to be an orphan if it neither has dependent nor does it has an employment

Check Tool was introduced to check for Data issues and Configuration issues. We have EC Core included on the Check Tool category and we would be able to search for Orphaned Person IDs from the system directly from your live or test instance.

Enable Check Tool:

To enable access to the Check Tool, please follow the guidance given in this article: 2472648 - Check Tool: How to check your Employee Central Configuration

 

Running the check "Check if there are any Orphan Person ID Externals in the system. (OrphanPerson)":

1. Select EC Core from the Application Category Dropdown:
   
   
   
   
2. Expand the Person category:
   
   
3. Click on the Left most column of the Check if there are any Orphan Person ID Externals in the system category and then click "Run Check".
   
   
   
   
4. If a Result is returned, click the link in the Result column -;
5. Review the Person ID's that are not linked to a UserID and Export the Result.
