2424358 - Rehire Inactive Employee with New Employment

Symptom

Rehiring an employee with a new employement is now available in the "Match Pop-up." It is also protected by a separate new RBP. How to you enable the permissions for this feature?

Resolution

There are 4 separate permissions for rehiring inactive employees:

  • Rehire Inactive Employee
  • Rehire Inactive Employee with New Employement
  • Rehire Inactive Employee with New Employment (by "match" in New Hire)
  • Rehire Inactive Employee (by "match" in New Hire)

There are two permissions that relate to the behaviour in the different Hire/Rehire wizards:

  • Rehire Inactive Employee
    • Rehire Inactive Employee
    • Rehire Inactive Employee with New Employement
  • Add New Employee / Manage Pending Hires
    • Rehire Inactive Employee (by "match" in New Hire)
    • Rehire Inactive Employee with New Employment (by "match" in New Hire)

How to grant these permissions for the Rehire Inactive Employee wizard and enable the "with New Employment" feature for the Rehire Inactive Employee wizard:

Include new RBP in appropriate permission role:

  1. Navigate to Admin Center > Manage Permission Roles.
  2. Select the appropriate Permission Role. Select Permission.
  3. Scroll down the left menu, and click Manage User.
  4. Select Rehire Inactive Employee, and Rehire Inactive Employee with New Employement.

Note: These permissions have moved, you will find them under Manage Hires (or sometimes labelled Manage Recruits depending on the language used).

These permissions will:

  • Rehire Inactive Employee: grant access to the Rehire Inactive Employee wizard.
  • Rehire Inactive Employee with New Employement: grant permission to rehire inactive employee's to a new employment from the "Rehire Inactive Employee" wizard.

How to grant these permissions for the Add New Employee & Manage Pending Hires wizards to allow you to Rehire an employee "with New Employment":

Include new RBP in appropriate permission role:

  1. Navigate to Admin Center > Manage Permission Roles.
  2. Select the appropriate Permission Role. Select Permission.
  3. Scroll down the left menu, and click Manage User.
  4. Select Rehire Inactive Employee and Rehire Inactive Employee with New Employement.

These permissions will:

  • Rehire Inactive Employee with New Employment (by "match" in New Hire): grant permission to rehire an employee to a new employment via the Add New Employee and Manage Pending Hires wizards.
  • Rehire Inactive Employee (by "match" in New Hire): grant permission to rehire an employee via the Add New Employee and Manage Pending Hires wizards.
