2413277 - How Does the Concurrent Employment UserID Get Created? - EC

Symptom

When creating a new Concurrent Employment for an employee, the Concurrent Employment UserID created is a new UserID

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
  • Concurrent Employment

Reproducing the Issue

For userId 12345 we create a Concurrent Employment, but the UserId created is 43251. We were expecting it to create UserId as 12345-1

Cause

This is expected behaviour.

Resolution

Create User Via Add concurrent employement

For Concurrent Employment, the UserID assigned is the next available UserID, BUT, the Username will be set similar to a Global Assignment. For example:

 Employment UserID PersonID Username
1 12345 12345 12345
2 43251 12345 12345-1
3 43252 12345 12345-2

Create User Via Add concurrent employement:Guide: Importing Concurrent Employments for Employees

  • You must use the person-id-external of the existing user to whom you want to assign the concurrent employment.
  • However, in the UserID column, enter a NEW UserID (one that does not already exist in the system - and note - you do not need to create it in advance in the Basic Import).
  • In effect, you are specifying a new UserID, which is similar to the set-up for global assignments.
