2402294 - Creating Workflows for Concurrent Employment - Employee Central

Symptom

  • This KB article explains how to configure approval workflows for employees hired for a Concurrent Employment
  • How do you create a workflow that triggers for a new concurrent employment?

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Resolution

  1. Create an event reason by going to Manage Pay Organization > Pay and Job Structures > select Create New 'Event Reason' to create one like below:

  1.  Next, create a business rule that will trigger the workflow:
    1. Go to Configure Business Rules
    2. Select Basic, click Create New Rule, base object = Event Reason
    3. Go to Parameter's in the top right and select Job Information for the base object
    4. Copy and paste "jobinformation" into the code and context section
    5. Set the If Statement: Set the "If" to the "Event Reason", the one created above 
    6. After Value select the event reason that you will be selecting to trigger the workflow
    7. For the "Then" statement: Set first box to"Set"
    8. For the left expression, open up the Job Information and go down to "wfconfig"

  1. The Workflow:

    1. After the value option, select the workflow created previously for the concurrent employment. You will find it in the list
    2. Finally, place the rule by going to Manage Business Configuration, finding the rule you have created and setting it as OnSave
