Reproducing the Issue
- After creating custom column/field, try to import data using Import Data tool.
- System Administration > System Management Tools > Import Data
Cause
- The field Custom Column Name in the entity template contains the custom column number instead of the label name.
- The custom column label does not exist in the system.
Resolution
- Please make sure that the custom column/label exists in the system. (System Admin > Custom Columns > choose the affected entity > search)
- In this example, USER custom column is being used. The custom column is labeled as DIVISION.
How to import data using Import Data tool:
- System Administration > System Management Tools > Import Data
- Download and update the entity template correctly. The field Custom Column Name should contain Column Name or Label and not column ID/Number.
- After updating the file, select Action: Import Data and select the appropriate import data required fields > Submit > Run Job
- To verify, go to the user record of the new user that has been imported
