ISSUE: “Error occurred when transitioning the workflow” error upon approving a change in position workflow.

Employee Central - Position Management

1. Approve Position Workflow
2. Reciever Error Message:
   Error occurred when transitioning the workflow

This issue is caused by one of the following:

• This issue exists when a field in the position object that has picklist that has an equivalent field in the job information page with also a picklist but are not in sync. These fields might be used in position to Job Sync rule.System will try to sync data as per the rule,but it will error out if the values are not same
• No Event Reason are defined for the changes triggered by the Position to Job Information Sync. 
• There is a configuration issue in the sm-mapping from the Candidate Profile Template to the EP Background Elements. Non Required fields in the Candidate Profile are mapped to Required fields in the EP Background. THis is not supported and can cause data issues.  

• Check all the picklist fields mapped in the position to Job business rule.Make sure that values in source and destination of mapped fields are same.

• Check to make sure all "then" conditions of your Event Reason Derivation Business Rules are completed or a catch all Event Reason Business Rule is configured. 
• If you have provisioning access, please check the sm-mappings in the Canadiate Profile, please reach out to support if you do not have provisioning access.
