Employee Central - Position Management

Create Permission for Position object is special. By default, Create Position in the system allows to create any position irrespective of Target Criteria. There is the following switch for it in the object definition of the Position object and by default it is set to No.



The admin can change it to Yes according to the business requirement. The steps for this are listed below.

1. Change the above mentioned flag value to Yes
2. Create a Permission role with Position permissions View Current and View History and grant the role to all positions as target criteria
3. Create a new Permission role with permission Create and grant the role with position restriction. Include access to Position in the hierarchy below the Granted User's Position with All levels.

Please Note:

Create permissions are only validated on save of the position. If you have restricted permissions on creating positions, they will only be validated on save of the position or after submitting the workflow. If you are not permissioned to create the position you will receive a "No Permissions" error as expected.
