2282269 - Unable to Edit position in Position Org Chart - Employee Central

Unable to Edit position in Position Org Chart via Edit option.

The Position to job info propagation rule will only trigger through Position Org chart > Edit.

1. Navigate to Employee files
2. Org chart
3. Position Org Chart
4. Enter any position
5. Show Position

Result: No error appears when making change Via Manage option

1. Select edit
2. Make a change and save
3. error appears referring to the propagation rule:

Rule:

- The rule is set in Position Management settings under Synchronisation tab > Rule for synchronising Position to job info

- Rule is also triggered in Manage Business configuration under Job info > Position field > triggered as an OnChange rule

You do not need to add any extra parameters in the rule (position)

Also, when selecting the to be equal to value, you need to select Position under Job information > and then the required field.

In this case it they were pulling the value from the wrong location, directly under position:

Corrected rule:

You can now edit any position via Position Org chart > Position > Edit without any error appearing and the rule should trigger / fields will update to job info

Note:

In b1602, this will no longer be an issue.

There will be more options when creating the Rule, you will be able to select Synchronise Position Changes to Incumbents” or Synchronise Incumbents Changes to Position, so the correct parameters will already be set up:
