2276692 - Best Practices on Job Description Manager to Job Profile Builder Migration

Symptom

Job Profile Builder (JPB) is a replacement for legacy Job Description Manager (JDM). At its core, it is a replacement for Families & Roles, but expands much beyond to allow customers to build complete Job Profiles with multiple content types. Skills Management allows customers to capture employees’ skills within an Employee Profile portlet. JPB and Skills can be leveraged independently, but best practice would be to implement both. This would truly help to solve the supply-and-demand issue by understanding both the organization’s roles as well as its employees.

Center of Capabilities (CofC) is an extension of JPB, a next-generation skills framework initiative that fundamentally changes the way that skills, competencies, and overall capabilities are captured on both people and experiences throughout our product portfolio. More information on CofC is available in the WIKI Center of Capabilities - Overview and Getting Started.

IMPORTANT: Customer with JDM data, can use the migration button to migrate Families, Roles, Job Code to Role Mappings and Competencies to the new framework: Job Profile Builder and Center of Capabilities. It can only be done once all Job Profile builder configuration is complete. For new customers, data should be configured directly in Job profile Builder and Center of Capabilities.
