2250044 - Using HTML Tags in MessageDefinition MDF Object

Symptom

A message, triggered from a Business Rule, containing HTML tags shows the tags as simple text.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • Metadata Framework (MDF)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log into the instance
  2. Go to Employees Files
  3. Select Time off
  4. Click Request an absence
  5. Select the days
  6. Click Submit

A pop up appears. Instead of a link the HTML tags show around the hyperlink text: Before clicking submit, please review the <A HREF="http:/ .......... .pdf" target+"_blank">

Same for: <BR/> Before clicking submit <BR/>

Cause

Not all the User Interfaces inside of SuccessFactors will be able to interpret the HTML codes inserted in the message definitions.

Resolution

This is expected behaviour, and a limitation on some UIs of SuccessFactors. For a seamless experience, we recommend not including these codes if you are not certain that the page supports it.

We currently don't have any specific date for this being included in future releases, but we always recommend providing your idea and voting up through our Influence Portal: 2090228 - How to Submit Ideas for SAP SuccessFactors Products.
