How to control the access of Upgrade Center via permission?

You can now control access to the Upgrade Center using role-based permissions (RBP).

• First, you can choose whether or not to enable this access control.
• Second, if enabled, you can then grant access to Upgrade Center in RBP, on the Manage System Permissions tab.

How to enable?

Pre-requisite: This feature is only available on RBP-enabled instances.

By default, "Enable Upgrade Center Permission" is OFF in provisioning. When this flag is OFF in provisioning, it means that all user will have access to Upgrade Center.

Please contact the SAP Cloud Support Team (LOD-SF-PLT-UGC) and ask to have this feature enabled.

Once enabled, how to set Upgrade Center access permission?

When this feature is switched ON, no user will have access to Upgrade Center until access permission is specifically granted.

To grant the permission go to:

1. Admin Center > "Manage Permission Roles"
2. Select the Role
3. Click "Permission..." button
4. Select "Admin Center Permissions" on left menu
5. Grant "Manage Upgrade Centre" permission

NOTE#1: To perform an upgrade, you often need to have a specific role-based permission. Having access to the Upgrade Center page itself doesn't allow you to perform all of the available upgrades. You can only perform an upgrade if you have the appropriate permission. If you don't have permission, you can read about the upgrade, but you can't use it to enable the feature.

NOTE #2: Not all upgrades require a specific permission. If no permission is required, anyone with access to the Upgrade Center can perform the upgrade. You will find the required permission on the "View Permission Details" link on each upgrade.
