Even though 'e-mail updates' are set to immediate in SAP Jam (Overview page, Group settings) users do not receive notifications immediately.

Resolution
This is due to the fact that notifications are handled with background jobs. Therefore, depending on what other background jobs are queued up, it can take a varying degree of time for the notification to get generated.
The "Immediate" e-mail notifications are sent at an interval of once every 10 minutes.
