2177622 - No Data Displayed in the Profitability Reports for Order / Invoice Profit

The Profit Detail by Contribution Margin Scheme report or Profit Overview by Key Figure report doesn't display any data although there are financial postings relevant for selection parameters.

Executing the profitability report returns message: No report data available to display; check the selection

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Cost and Revenue work center.
2. Go to the Reports view.
3. Select List subview.
4. Select the report Profit Detail by Contribution Margin Scheme or Profit Overview by Key Figure.
5. Enter the selection parameters, and select Profit Type as: 1 (Order profit) or 2 (Invoice Profit).
6. Click Go.
7. You get the information message: No report data available to display; check selection.

The contribution margin scheme maintained in the Set of books specifies the structure of the Profit Detail by Contribution Margin Scheme report. SAP delivers templates for contribution margin schemes (structure type Income Statement by Function of Expense) as financial reporting structures for every template chart of accounts. You can copy a template and adapt it to your needs or create a contribution margin scheme from scratch. In the customized reporting structure, you have not Assigned the price components to the reporting structure nodes. This assignment of price components is required to display Order/Invoice profit.

To see the appropriate data for profit type: Order profit or Invoice profit, you need to assign price component by following below steps:

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Select the Overview view.
3. Search for the Activity: Settings for Income Statements by Function of Expense and Earned Profit Analysis.
4. Select Change Immediately.
5. Select Edit Financial Reporting Structures.
6. Select the Key ZZZ (ZZZ stands for the Key of the Financial Reporting Structure or the Contribution Margin Scheme).
7. Select Edit.
8. Select the Item of the Financial Reporting structures.
9. Select Actions > Assign Price Components.
10. Select save.
