2166619 - Activating User Custom Fields in Assignment Profile Attribute List in SuccessFactors Learning

• A user custom field is not appearing in the attribute list of an Assignment Profile
• This KB article explains how to activate User custom field in an Assignment Profile

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

1. Access Learning Administration
2. Go to System Administration > Custom Fields > User and choose Add New
3. Enter Field Number and Label, and then click Add button
4. Go to any Assignment Profile and click Rules tab
5. Click Add Rule button
6. Notice the new custom field, created in step 3, isn't in the Select Attribute dropdown list

• This behaviour occurs because the Assignment Profile Synchronization process did not run yet.
• The Assignment Profile Synchronization process not only checks users for attributes, but also activates the columns in the Assignment Profile.

1. Access Learning Administration
2. Go to System Administration > Automatic Process
3. Run the Assignment Profile Execute Updates job

• The Assignment Profile rules will now have the Custom Field added. Only if the Custom Field is Referenced will the ability to filter on the specific IDs be possible.
• If the Custom Column is not referenced, it is not possible to make it referenced after data has been placed in the field.
• Manual update to null values on all users will need to be done or using the Connector updateOnNull. See KB article 2222795 for information on this process.
