2148513 - Update user custom columns outside of default custom columns via User Connector

Symptom

In LMS we provide 15 default user custom columns and have predefined connectors mapping for those columns.

But sometimes customers have more than 15 custom columns for users and want to update them via User Connectors.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

Resolution

Below is the approach to achieve that (the same rule should apply to other standard connectors):

  1. Create the custom columns via System Admin > Custom Fields > User (Let’s say we created a custom column #21 in the UI)

    Customer Column 21.PNG

*Value "COL_NUMx_VAL" corresponds to custom column "x0" in the LMS. For example, "sfuser.field.mapping.data.COL_NUM1_VAL" corresponds to custom column 10, "sfuser.field.mapping.data.COL_NUM2_VAL" corresponds to custom column 20, and etc.

  2. Add mapping rule to Connectors Configuration File (System Administration > Configuration > System Configuration > Connectors) as user.field.customcolumn.21=CUSTOM21

    Adding Configuration.PNG

  3. Run the User Connectors with an input file containing value for custom column #21 (Column Name should be "CUSTOM 21)
